Lombardy Region – The Lombardy Region Council has approved the Dowry School’s recommendations for the 2022-23 school year, on the proposal of the Councilor for Education, University, Research, Innovation and Simplification.
“From the beginning of the legislature to the present day,” said the education adviser, “almost one million Lombard students have had access to the Dote Scuola. the right to education for all, to concretely support merit and excellence ”.
For the next year, Dote Scuola will be financed with 43 million euros of autonomous resources, to which will be added about 13.2 million euros of state resources.
“Compared to last year, the regional resources for the purchase of textbooks and teaching materials – the commissioner continues – from 2 to 9 million euros: a concrete sign of the attention and proximity to families in the current difficult economic context”.
WHY LA DOTE SCUOLA – La Dote Scuola embodies the set of policies of the Lombardy region to support the right to education of boys and girls attending public schools, peer schools and regional educational institutions, as well as the principle of subsidiarity and the freedom of educational choice of families.
In the implementation of regional law n. 19/2007, Dote Scuola aims to remove economic barriers that prevent access to and free choice of educational pathways, and to prevent school dropout by facilitating a stay in the school system.
The allocated funds are divided among the 4 components that make up the Dote Scuola.
For each component, the methods for submitting applications and making contributions are defined by public announcements, which are gradually published on the online calling platform of the Lombardy region, accessible via SPID / CNS / CIE.
All the simplifications that were introduced over time were also confirmed, with the submission of self-certification applications and interoperability with the INPS and with the National Student Registry, to verify the data related to income and school attendance “at source”.
Here are the regional resources budgeted for the 4 components of the Dowry School 2022-2023:
GOOD SCHOOL – EUR 24 MILLION
The school voucher is the contribution for the payment of tuition fees from an equal or public school. It is parameterized on the ISEE area and on the order and school level and can therefore vary from a minimum of 300 to a maximum of 2,000 euros per student.
The budget for the school voucher is 24 million euros in total.
SUPPORT FOR THE DISABLED – 8 MILLION EUROS
“Support for the disabled” is the contribution to partially cover the costs of teaching staff who engage in educational support activities for disabled students attending private schools.
The contribution for each student incorporated varies according to the school order.
900 Euros are provided for every disabled child enrolled in the playschool; up to 1,400 euros for primary school; up to € 3,000 for each disabled student enrolled in the high school and high school.
The allocation provided for the disability support component is a total of 8 million euros of regional resources:
– € 6,000,000.00 (independent resources) for the support component for disabled students;
– € 1,000,000.00 (autonomous resources) for the disability support component in the autonomous playschools for the school year 2021/2022;
– € 944,000.00 (autonomous resources) for the support of the disabled in the autonomous playschools for the school year 2022/2023
EDUCATIONAL MATERIAL – 9.1 MILLION EURO
The regional teaching material contribution can be used to purchase textbooks, technological equipment and teaching instruments.
It is intended for students residing in Lombardy, enrolled in courses in first and second grade secondary, state and equivalent, or accredited educational institutions based in Lombardy or in neighboring regions (provided the student returns to their residence every day).
The contribution varies from 200 to 500 Euros.
The component is integrated with the measure of the state, which in law no. 107/2005 and Legislative Decree n. 63/2017, Individual Fund for the Welfare of Students and the Right to Education, which provides scholarships for students enrolled in low-income high schools to combat early childhood education.
The Ministry of Education has confirmed that the beneficiaries are families with an ISEE of less than € 15,748.78, but has not yet identified the related needs and financial allocation.
MERIT – 2 MILLION EURO
Dote Merito rewards students living in Lombardy, up to 21 years, who have excellent results in the last years of the education system in the school year 2021/2022 and students who have the highest degree in the state examination o at the end of vocational training and education.
It is a contribution to cover the purchase of books, technological equipment and teaching instruments or to cover the cost of enrollment and participation of Higher Technical Training Institutes (IFTS), Higher Technical Institutes (ITS), universities and other academic training institutes .
For the year 2022-23, the budget is estimated at € 2 million.
The contribution for students varies from 500 to 1,500 euros.
