Training in music therapy at Piccolomini

Three days with Giulia Cremaschi Trovesi for network teachers

SIENA. Lycée Piccolomini is organizing a teacher training course on 28 February, 1 and 2 March. Special guest as teacher trainer, professor Giulia Cremaschi Trovesi, internationally recognized musician and music therapist, president of the APMM (Association of Music Pedagogy and Music Therapy) and of the FIM (Italian Federation of Music Therapists), pioneer of music therapy in Italy and author of many works on the subject of music and education.

The event is also open to teachers of the network’s schools, of which Piccolomini is the leader, for the dissemination of the themes of creativity and humanistic culture, also as an orientation.

The course aims to acquire or deepen knowledge of the fundamental theoretical principles of music therapy and its methods of application, particularly in the school environment to enrich the strategies of each teacher with new ideas in their learning experience and to provide opportunities for reflection on the possible . transversal nature of music therapy and pedagogical action in school in particular regarding the analysis of the individual and social needs of students, class management, relational problems and school inclusion.

The 12-hour course will be held in the Aula Magna of the headquarters of the Piccolomini Institute, Prato Sant’Agostino n.2, on the following days and times:

  • February 28, 2022 from 3pm to 7pm: Particular and epistemological aspects of humanistic music therapy. Musical pedagogy. Acoustic physics and sound parameters. Air, breath, voice, languages: the “vibrating body”. Vibration, sound waves, transmission, resonance, reception: the complexity of listening.

  • March 1, 2022 from 3pm to 7pm: The origin of music, of verbal language, of order, of movement, of measure. The “Maternal Womb: First Orchestra”. Relationship between man and the world. Rhythms, sounds, sounds, voices: the origin of languages. Creative imitation (mirror neurons), relationship, communication, art.

  • March 2, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm Musical improvisation and sound dialogue. Tone, gesture, sign: from experience to knowledge. The “Circular Relationship”: the hermeneutical circle of the Relationship. Elements of musical education and vocal practice for the management of disabilities or school difficulties.

Dissemination objective: to emphasize the energy and quality of the institute in terms of teacher education. The course is open to everyone.
