the internship includes culture and professional growth

Milan,
(information.it – Press releases – Economy)

Claudio, let’s start with you. Gruppobea continues following the evolution of the market. In recent months, you have again been committed to pulling out of school through internships and Level I learning. So, is a school promotion worth hiring?

Yes, after the positive extracurricular experience with lo IED, which allowed us to hire 4 new graduates, for the fifth time a high school student enters our company through a first level apprenticeship. With Galdus, but also with other schools, we have created a network that has become a training ground that reinforces the talents that grow in this family every day.

Is it a complex vision?

I want to. A few weeks ago, I happened to hear from the manager of a service company who argued how difficult it would be to invest in young people with no experience. I remember his tired tone: “Too much time, too much money, too much energy. Too many bad figures.” It was all “too much”, and for him it would have been better to focus on those who had years of experience, to meet the urgent needs of the company for which he worked. It was at this point that I told myself that not everyone is always ready to be overwhelmed by the stressful experience of growth, and I thought that if you are lucky enough to – as it happened to us – be a former trainee observe, now For 6 years a highly trained employee, joining the committee to evaluate a student who has followed the first level curriculum, you feel something different: the excitement of a path with sacrifice.

How was the exam?

I would say very well. Maria graduated with a 100/100 degree and we just hired her. Above all, her business tutor Mariya Chorney, with her 2 years of coaching work, has shown that beauty lies in the closeness, the research, the reciprocity and the desire to transfer what has been learned before. It was a great demonstration of maturity, and being a part of it thrilled me.

Let’s come to you, Marcello. Can you tell us about the Galdus program, and how your collaboration with Gruppobea came about?

Objective of vocational school Galdus, rooted in the Milan region for more than 20 years, helps students find their place in the world. Collaboration begins with dialogue and discussion. The main issue is: What skills does the world of work need, and how can we pass on to young people the best possible preparation for them? The concrete responses that emerged in the synergy between Galdus and Gruppobea were: meetings and training sessions at the school run by the company itself, internship experiences to touch the company reality first hand and you and a discovering other everyday life. Up to the first level of learning, thanks to which our children have the opportunity to obtain the professional qualification or the technician diploma. All while at work, with a proper contract, and at the same time attending school. During these experiences, the company and the school are constantly confronted with each other, thanks to dedicated school tutors, and specific company contacts for each child. Jonas takes care of the supervision of the experiences, and is personally involved in the education and guidance of the children.

Jonas, would you like to tell us about this trip?

I come from France, a country where professional paths are now the norm. In Italy, we are finally moving in this direction, and the Lombardy region is very sensitive to this issue. But I think we could and should do even more. There are many cultural obstacles if you decide to take this path. Starting with a student who only counts on his skills and not on his experience, it really seems like an odyssey. It all seems to be set up to cause tension and drowsiness. A bit as if the logic of training was aborted by any business logic. But this distorted concept – while causing stress – is key. To understand it, one has to delve into a farmer’s vision: to dig hard, plant a seed and be willing to live in cycles. Looking at it this way, it would seem to us that we are wasting our time through training; but it is simply a matter of phases. Heavy, long, stressful, it does not matter. What is important to know is that we are becoming more resilient every time. Our thinking will be more plastic, and we will convince ourselves that it is necessary to learn to listen, to feel, to wait, to understand other worlds, other visions. And in the end, as in a little miracle, we will discover that we have a tree in our garden.

It seems like the only recipe for uniqueness. It’s a bit reminiscent of the summary of Buscaglia’s book. Live graciously understanding each other.

You mentioned one of my myths! I love the text full of passion, in which the teachers are also creative research, the stimulation of living curiosity, the ability to ask themselves. The peculiarities of a student, the prerequisite and his skills, when well communicated and reinforced, will constitute the great path which fixes the passage between school and work.

Step by step.

Exactly. It starts with the predisposition to listen, setting an essential condition for the communication levels between the coach and the student. Empathy is used to set the boundaries of the relationship. Then the instructions arrive; clear, direct, designed so that questions that are useful for the construction of learning arise. From showrooms to logistics, from administration to marketing, the way we use to communicate will be the discriminating factor in the training process.

How important is trust in all of this, Claudio?

It has a large weight. Trust is achieved through understanding and assimilating the rules necessary to take the first steps into a new dimension. Expectation goes through the method, and a perspective associated with mutual needs and mutual respect is needed. Here, building this progress means facilitating the assimilation of any activity of the student who feels free to pursue their curiosity, aware that making mistakes is a great asset. On the other hand, whoever makes a mistake improves.

Marcello, first level learning How much does school affect and how much work? And how is an exam set up?

The apprentices are at the same time workers of Gruppobea and students of the Galdus school. They spend 4 days a week at work, during which the company becomes a laboratory and transmits the technical content of the training. On the other hand, one day a week is dedicated to school education: Teachers of the learning project do training sessions in small working groups. The contents are cultural: Italian, English, mathematics, law, work orientation. Didactic planning is tailor-made, with a strong emphasis on the practical and functional applications of the content. The final exam includes a written test for the basic skills. For the technical-professional part, the presentation of a masterpiece is intended instead: the students choose a process that is part of their everyday life in society, and show it to the commission and show the achieved technical level. Over the years, the synergy between the world of work and that of school has increasingly proved to be a positive alchemy of great stimulants for young people.

Jonas, why choose an inexperienced student instead of an industry professional? is it not too long a process?

It’s not just long. It is also complex, physically and psychologically exhausting. Students are placed in a comfort zone where everything is mixed; they often come from educational areas where the light of work is absent, or completely distorted. When they enter the company, even if only for an internship, they are disoriented. Knowledge about the world of work is almost zero; Knowledge of their surroundings is rare. Not to mention the ability to express oneself, often tainted by the bad habit of relating to others through the serial dynamics of a smartphone: fast interactions, not connected to reality. Anxiety that often leads to boredom and melancholy. Empathy, as well as the use of the word, is often sought, asked. Especially in a complex moment like this, in which Covid and War have severely tested their security, their security. Therefore, some of them, even though they have pursued articulate educational paths, even though they have attentive and protective families behind them, take closed attitudes that do not allow the listener to listen to the curiosity we have been talking about. The trainees who arrive here are lost, lost in a shell that isolates them from the world. The effort lies in wanting to discover all of this. We must listen to them, hold them in our hand, accompany them, introduce them to the new and very fast-paced dimension. And why not, even the cultural ones.

In our case, students enter into a circuit in which it must be read the Ansa every day, told us the news of the world that caught their attention. Discuss how they feel, explain what they understand, develop critical thinking. In addition, during the pedagogical period – and it is hoped that they will also educate the follow-up – they are invited to register for free on the site a word a day, a beautiful online project that helps expand the knowledge of the Italian language. Well, as the creators say: the quality of the thoughts we make depends on the quality of the words we know.

Very nice. Are they leaving a classroom to get back into the classroom?

Already. The most challenging classroom. After all, life is a school that requires us to grow, and it is up to us to decide how we do it. As far as I am concerned, I think that the Punic wars are important, but experimentation and didactic innovation are also fundamental. The discovery of a social conscience that activates the discovery and use of their attitudes, personal talents. Adequately measured with the challenges of life offers the great opportunity to make mistakes. And as Carol Dweck – Stanford Professor of Psychology – writes about our development, the way we interpret difficulties and the way to best realize our potential is, after all, the result of a conscious commitment. The “mentality” influences the way we process, interpret, read information.

That’s why I’m happy to think of the students who spent two years teaching us in a 1st level: Maria, Veronica, Mario, Alessio, Lorenzo, all of whom entered our society for the first time with wide eyes, Fear on their faces and arms.clapped. They had a schedule to follow, lessons to learn in school. Exam on Exam. Classroom and work. Many of them, managing a family life is not easy. And now that they’ve finished their last year at Galdus, they’re entering our universe, consisting of relationships, stress management, awareness, dynamic mentality, training, constant merchandising and – why not – a world of newly hired books Mary he learned to steal from my office makes me happy. Because culture should never have a price.
