In the night between 15 and 16 July Maria Filippone, Deputy Mayor and Councilor for Education of the Municipality of Naples, died. Filipone was a woman close to school: from 2007 until retirement she was principal of the Marie Curie Technical and Technical Institute, then of the Humanities Center “Antonio Genovesi” and of the classical high school “Jacopo Sannazaro”. ; formerly a teacher of Latin and Greek at the high school classical “Imbriani” in Pomigliano d’Arco and then at the high school classical “Genovesi”.
She is also involved with teachers, collaborating with the Cidi of Naples and the Campanian universities, she was co-author of textbooks. He also participated in the television series produced by Rai and directed by Michele Mirabella “Amor Roma”.
Last June 13, she was hospitalized at the Policlinico di Naples due to an illness due to cardio-circulatory problems.
Filippone was the wife of Arturo De Vivo, Professor of Latin Literature at Federico II University and former rector during the period in which Gaetano Manfredi held the position of rector of Campanian University.
The funeral will take place on Sunday, July 17, at 9:30 in the Church of Sant’Onofrio in Corso Umberto I, Naples.
