In just under an hour, messages and public attestations of gratitude and heartfelt gratitude to those who have devoted almost 400 years to the education and training of the new generations is no easy task, just as it is not with a simple party. This is what volunteers from Agesc (Catholic School Parents Association) and the whole school are trying to do during the school year closing event at the Dominican Sisters Conservatory in Empoli.
The whole school community, enriched by the presence of the representatives of the institutions, the highest local religious offices and the mother of Sisters Giacomina, was deeply aware of the three sisters, the last of whom are still at the historic Empolese Institute. Sister Annamaria, Sister Colomba and Sister Laura, visibly connected by so many hearts, received the Agesc “A life in the school” award for shaping the general sense of gratitude towards them ginn. Similar recognition was given to Fabrizio Fabrizzi, who worked for over forty years at the school in Via Chiara.
As is now sadly known, the sisters will be transferred in the next few days to other places and residences, which were ordered by the Dominican sisters of the Union of Sts. which they have benefited since 1638 generations and generations of young people, so that the school is the oldest institution dedicated to education “in the land of Empoli”.
The theme of the evening was “Fidelity”, represented by the strong bond that the sisters have made with our city, and on this theme, students were awarded prizes that complete the attachment and feeling of going all the way to school. have done, or a good portion of it, to the SS.ma Annunziata.

The evening was an opportunity to present the Euroweek 2023 logo, a unique international event of its kind, with the participation of school delegations from twenty-five European countries and with Empoli the role of the “European Capital of Higher Institutions”. The initiative, strongly desired by Sister Amata, historical figure of the Conservatory, saw the Holy Annunciation as the only school that represented Italy in this assembly since 1990, and once again marks a school that remains alive , in step with the times and tempered by the teachings inherited from the nuns who continue, at least spiritually, to support every activity.
