A commitment that grows and strengthens year by year. The audience of Emilia-Romagna students benefiting from a scholarship has expanded: they were 18,374 in the school year 2020-2021, they will climb to 20,241 this year (+ 10.7%). This is thanks to a total funding of 4.7 million between regional and ministerial resources, almost 800 thousand euros more than last year 3.9 million euros, which make it possible to pay the scholarships to 100% of the students who Meet requirements. . This is the result of the calls launched at the end of last year, with the aim of guaranteeing everyone the right to education, starting with the poorest, and to fight for school closure.
Of the more than 20,000 scholarships awarded this year in Emilia-Romagna, 10,672 – 9,712 in the school year 2020-2021 – are funded by the regional funds, for a total amount of almost 2.2 million euros (+ 10%). They benefit students enrolled in the first and second years of secondary and in the second and third years of vocational training and education courses. The remaining 9,669 scholarships, for funding of over 2.5 million euros, will instead be covered with resources provided by the Ministry of Education and intended for all eligible Emilia-Romagna students who have been in the last three years of the high schools, institutions technical and professional. The province of Forlì-Cesena is entitled to 258,653 €.
“Once again, through an allocation that is strengthened year by year, we guarantee 100% of the scholarships to eligible students, with special attention to the deserving and the disabled – underlines the Regional Councilor for School, Paola Salomoni – an important commitment. of the region, which invests in schools at 360 degrees, from scholarships to transport to school buildings, to guarantee the full right to education and equal opportunities for all students, and to ensure the homogeneity of treatment throughout the regional territory “This year, too, we have decided to increase the financial resources to respond to the growing number of requests and to ensure that none of the boys and girls who are eligible are excluded.”
In addition to these resources, 2 million and 250 thousand euros will be distributed across the territory again with a resolution of the executive, determined to finance the school transport service for the next year 2022/2023. From this amount, the province of Forlì-Cesena is entitled to 175 thousand euros. Among the criteria for the use of resources, priority is given to supporting the transport of students with disabilities. It will be the province that will distribute the contributions to the municipalities of their territories, based on criteria set out in the territorial planning.
The unit amount and payment methods
With a resolution adopted by the Regional Council these days, the basic unit value of the regional scholarships for the current school year is confirmed at 183 Euros; a number that rises to 229 euros (+ 25%) for deserving students, that is, with an average score higher than 7, and for those with a disability. The unit value of the ministerial subsidies is instead of 261.80 euros, the same for all. The Isee family income threshold to benefit from scholarships is set at € 15,748 per year. The 10,762 scholarships funded by the region are provided by the provinces of the metropolitan city of Bologna. For ministerial purposes, the region provides the list of beneficiaries, drawn up by the provinces in the metropolitan city of Bologna, to the Ministry of Education, which pays the amount directly by bank transfer.
