ILIAS conference ends in Italy

BOLOGNA – After twenty annual editions that touched different European cities in 2022, the ILIAS conference returns to Italy: the advanced e-learning professionals actually met in Bologna, at the FICO Congress Center on September 8 and 9 to a very high one. Profile two-day event on training technologies.

The topics on the table are very different, but all lead to highlighting the importance of advanced distance learning systems. Schools, universities, companies, public administration require specific techniques and professionalism to adapt the training modules to the world market, to the multilingual choice, to the possibilities allowed by artificial intelligence, augmented reality, telepresence, privacy protection and data analysis. Open-source technological platforms such as ILIAS allow the highest customization of functionalities, develop reliable and adequate tailoring solutions at all levels, from military strategic communications to school education through technical training on the use of automatic machines, and so on.

The protagonists of the sector are expected in Bologna for a high-profile professional comparison of virtual reality, neuroscience, data analysis, coaching, machine learning and deep-learning. To these interventions are added demonstrations on the use in e-learning of algorithms, software and solutions capable of integrating augmented reality, gamification, data protection and breaking down barriers (linguistic, cultural, gender, disability), with experiences made key and applied mainly in Germany and Northern Europe.

Making e-learning inclusive is the next frontier, especially in countries where distance learning is more advanced, and specific conference sessions are dedicated to this topic.

Then there is the issue of digital sovereignty, which is primarily related to the analysis and data collection of technological platforms. Today, all European digital communication goes through American “nodes” such as Google or Amazon just to give an example, and Europe must be able to better protect the data about the living habits, consumption and relationships of its citizens without being dispersed. in other geopolitical realities and/or used for unspecified or non-agreed purposes.

The city of Bologna, seat of the oldest university in the Western world, therefore becomes on this occasion the world capital of distance learning, its role as a symbolic place to consolidate teaching and learning with a view to innovation and the future, therefore call accredited professionals collect and present the most modern case histories of the sector.
